Maximumrocknroll's very best 12"/LP of 2011

So, another year, another list. I like lists, however, even though I should despise for their reductive nature and reaffirmation that everything in this fucking world can be reduced to a taxonomy, be it nature, art or funny pictures of weird families. I like them because they're simply a catalyst and, pretty much, nothing more. They get the conversations going and before you know it you’re discovering things about each other that are completely outside of the lists topic. Some fight, some gang up on others, some hug that shit out in the end, but we all come out a feeling little better inside and about those we share records with.
Now, this is a cumulative list so a little bit of humanity has been sucked out of it because there's literally no author of this list. It's just stupid fucking numbers (something else I despise). Isn't this fun!?!
Fuck it though. The real reason I'm posting this list is because I've listened to several of these records over the year and this is a nice and tidy way of presenting some of these records that have been spinning on mine, and apparently others, turntable for a bit now.

Logistics. None of this is weighted upon where an author placed it upon their respective list, something I probably should have mentioned in last years MRR cumulative list. Besides, most of the others specifically state "In no particular order," atop of their list anyways, so I don't think it would have mattered either way.
Basically, I created a list from the most mentioned record down, until I got as close to 10 records without omitting any records that tied with the same amount of mentions. Pretty simple stuff that results in fist-fighting nerdery. Love it. Another thing, If you're wondering why there's gaps in numbers, I think of it this way. 5 records are tied at fifth place, so if there was a 6th, 7th , 8th or 9th place in this list, these records reserve those places. Ya? That sorta confuses me to. I saw it done this way somewhere else so I'm doing it. Fuck off.

Lastly, this list does not represent the collective that is MaximumRockNRoll. I did this for shits and giggles. So, without further ado…

I don't even listen to Total Control anymore. Way too commercial. Their only good recordings are the phone messages they left each other about starting a band.
