EPISTASIS - Light Through Dead Glass

The rules on how to write black metal have long been broken. On Light Through Dead Glass Epistasis deliver a mixture of black and brutal, slightly spazztic rock, which drops into darkly meditative ghost story scores (as in a hauntingly beautiful old Japanese ghost stories on film). This works to perfection (even though "perfection" doesn't exist).
The high pitched tortured demon vocals vomit perfectly mixed into the songs. The songwriting is masterful bonding of those elements of black rock´n´roll, dark ambience and black metal. Quite fantastic at moments and sometimes a tad epileptic but it flows and is quite catchy in it's ugliness.
What then adds to the overall quality of the album is the fact that no idea is overused, as in nothing is used as a filler.

The lover of filthy music has here a short, quite insane album that sticks to him/her like a alien face hugger. [Crucial Blast]
