I feel fortunate because of the fact that my taste in music continues to develop (even though I am getting old) and for the fact that my taste has progressed furter into extremes of filth and uglyness. For some strange reason I am reminded of a quote from a old western when the cowboy says; "The more I get to know people, the more I like horses". As in, the more I see of pop culture the more I appreciate those who abhor it.
So I connect deeply with Slavedriver, I bond with how this album moves with ease from sludge to grind to noise drone without any break in the flow of crushing distortion. The filth and the glory of the filth! The b-movie sci-fi horror soundtracks totally fitting and adding to the atmosphere on the album instead of being a joke or just filler as in too many cases of film soundtracks on metal and punk albums.
This sounds like it comes straight from the heart of people who are united in their disgust for any sophistication within metal. I love it and I hope someone will release this on thick vinyl because this album should not disappear when the digital world wipes itself out. [Self released]
