[MUSIC VIDEO] "Anthems of Despair" RAMMING SPEED'S wyldin' caught on tape and in the mosh!
Halifax Collect got in touch with drummer and mouthpiece, Jonah Laze, to get more meat on the bones as to what transpired when shooting this glorious celebration of a video. Oh, and while I've have you attention, check out the raw and powerful drum sound and the Proudflesh-like part that starts at 1:55! Per Noisecreep.com the 'Speed is "One of the hardest-working bands in heavy metal." We heartily agree.
"My plan for the video was to have it super brutal dark live portion mixed in with the community and friendship vibe of the footage surrounding it. I didn't realize that my buddy Scott was going to be in town, he lives in Georgia and does special effects on huge Hollywood movies like Avengers and shit like that. We've always talked about him helping with effects on a video, like flame throwers or lasers or whatever. Anyway, he showed up with a huge duffel bag and wouldn't tell me what was inside of it."
"As soon we started playing he handed out like fifty cans of silly string, huge boxes of bouncy balls and a ton of popsicles. People started throwing silly shit everywhere and during the last take of the song he shot off a giant confetti cannon full of gold and silver ribbons that you can see during one of the last shots of the video. so it went from my vision of dark and angry to his vision of everyone laughing and covered in silly string."
"Anthems of Despair" is off of Ramming Speed's latest and best album, Doomed to Destroy, Destined to Die, is out on Prosthetic Records. You can stream it here.
