I'll have you know #1, feat. ABYSSAL

Welcome to I'll Have You Know, a new feature here on Halifax Collect. What it really is, is me trying to adapt to my life's changes all the while keeping this blog going. The long format writing I've maintained through the years is not sustainable as I stand these day, but I hope to return to it in not too distant future.  I'll Have You Know will be the quickest format yet, easy to formulate and format and I hope it brings some excitement into your blog-hopping day.

As much as I love vintage death metal -- that's the era where I'm from -- and as much as I enjoy new bands that sound old-like but can write proper albums, I'm really on the prowl for something new and sonically exciting. That's were UK's Abyssal come in. Antikatastaseis' "I Am the Alpha and Omega" is absolutely monstrous and cavernous. It best exemplifies dark death metal with just the right amount of black metal cold melancholy without recycling the past.
- Birkir Fjalar

Antikatastaseis was released just yesterday by Profound Lore records.
