SÓLSTAFIR - "Djákninn" live at Mayhemisphere 2013 (Eistnaflug festival)
Seeing as I've recently written a tribute spread about Sólstafir (which I felt was long overdue) in an Icelandic tabloid magazine (you read that right!), I've been on a new Sólstafir binge lately. A band always close to my heart, a band of big intrigue and one with a unique saga behind it, I'm gutted not to have been able to attend any of their performances at this year's Eistnaflug festival (this planet's greatest metal/rock festival). Furthermore, I've been singing the blues missing all my friends and comrades that congregate far away from the city, each year, for the most important part: the celebratory importance of what is essentially a family meeting. Gutted!
Anyway, back to business. My good friend and metal fiend for life, Stefán Rafn or Stebbi Sveinbjörns as we like to call me, recorded the video you just watched during Sólstafir's performance at this year's Mayhemisphere off-venue program.
