It's the MYSTERY GRAB BAG! Episode 7, in which you learn we're not dead yet!

Dear friends. I know, I know. It's been much too long. Over a year! That's long in internet-time, isn't it? The reasons for this are manyfold, but know that the passage of time doesn't take away from the purity, joy and friendship that makes the Mystery Grab Bag what it is. They key thing here being, nerds never die! That's me and Andrew, for the uninitiated. Why's the whole bag not on Halifax Collect? you ask. Well, as you can clearly see, the blog's barely breathing but over in Andrew's playground - NO ECHO - things are alive and kicking! So much so, he'd been poking me for bag # 7 for the longest, with little reaction from me. So, him, being able and ready to set up, it made perfect sense to premiere the bag on his side of the fence. And what side it is! Follow (facebook / twitter) NO ECHO any way you can, frequent your visits and find how much that damn site has to offer. It's positively splendorous!

So, without further dildoing, we give you THE MYSTERY GRAB BAG - EPISODE 7...

"Birkir from Halifax Collect and I cooked up the Mystery Grab Bag towards the end of 2013, and—as far as I'm concerned—without "the bag," No Echo wouldn't exist. This format made writing about music fun again; which got me thinking; which got my No Echo co-conspirator, Carlos, throwing ideas at me; and that's how it all began.
Sadly, it's been well over a year since the last grab bag. Hey, what can you do? We're old, we're busy—hell, Birkir has since become a first-time father! (Holy shit! Congratulations, buddy!) Make no mistake, we tried on several occasions—Carlos and I even got a grab bag episode of our own half-started—but schedules stack up, times get tough, and shit gets put on ice. Then something magical happened: a surprise message from my old pal, Birkir, alerting me that another five songs awaited my perusal. I was so psyched, I returned the favor within seven hours, and here we are!"
