HEXER - Hexer LP

When you speak about American Black Metal a few bands immediately come to mind. Profanatica with their dicks out in graveyards. Black Witchery with their hoods on in graveyards. Von with blood all over their half naked bodies, The list goes on and so does the nudity. Hexer's nudity lies in their anonymity. Nobody knows who they are. Only after extensive research it has been established that except for the drummer the members are, in fact, human.
What we also know that this thirsty six minute soon to be vinyl release contains both of Hexer's two thousand and eleven cassette releases, remastered by Adam Tucker at Signaturetone Recording. I would really like to get my hands on the original tapes to hear the difference, if any is noticeable. To feel the cold breath of the tape, it's perfect vision of the rising northland in two parts. I'm sure it is better. The tape is always better, right?

Their music is as raw as their image. The triumphs of yesterday are the triumphs of today for the Hexer three as they plow through track after track of raw and simplistic black metal with more vocal-effects than Varg Vikernes dared use when he recorded Filosofem. The band plow through their raw and primitive black metal that seems to have it's roots in the rude and crude Finnish and Polish scene. Sometimes they allow themselves a bit of progression and throw themselves into thrashing waters but for the main parts they seem to stay in the raw and primal thousand lakes.

This album is great for those that dig the lo-fi adventures our ancestors ventured on in the not so distant past. It is for the people that can't stand over-produced music that sounds like it has been sterilised before being shipped off to the pressing factory. This album is for people that want things to stay the same, that don't dig progression. Why buy a machine gun when a pistol gets the job done and might just be more accurate? [Gilead Media]
