COVEN 13 premieres "Solitary Days," off of the forthcoming Destiny Of The Gods full length!

Seemingly indestructible, Detroit's COVEN 13 strikes back with Destiny Of The Gods, a full length as rocking as it is brooding, an unabashed heavy metal thunder only grown men - with insight, knowledge, experience and understanding of music - could muster.

Since the band's formation in 1985, they haven't skipped a beat musically, although line-up changes, re-location of members, alcohol and substance abuse did their darndest to throw a wrench into this riff machine. Even though an official breakup was announced in 1992, the band reformed for a handful of reunion dates in 2005 that all went down splendorously, invigorating these seasoned veterans, and sparking a flame where once was dark. Soon the fire burnt brightly. In 2011, vocalist David Landrum moved back to Detroit after years in Seattle, fate could not be escaped: Coven 13 (formerly known as Coven (read up on the name change) would have to obey the metal gods and unleash new recordings on the masses.
The powerful, no-bullshit yet dynamic Destiny Of The Gods will be released via Shadow Kingdom Records, November 19th. Get a taste of the madness by streaming album cuts “Thor’s Twins” and “Walpurgisnacht” at the label's bandcamp location (HERE).

Halifax Collect is proud to be able to give you the third example of Destiny Of The Gods might, the intense and unbridled “Solitary Days,” which in comparison to the two tracks mentioned above clearly demonstrates, that Coven 13 is far from a one trick pony.

Skálmöld's Þráinn
I ran this firewagon of a track by one Þráinn Árni Baldvinsson, master shredder and lead guitar extraordinaire for the highly successful juggernaut Skálmöld (who, just couple of days ago, finished an epic European tour). And this is his first reaction.
"This is great. They definitely have a unique sound! This is '80s, good '80s! I like the guitar sound. They are obviously compelled by passion for the music, for themselves, unhampered by trends. Take no prisoners! I like the songs and the fact they are making music, I'm sure I'll buy it to listen some more. Again, unique sound is most appealing to me."
